At My Paper Pusher, LLC, I am the Chief Executive Officer!
Being the boss keeps you busy! Most days you’ll find me doing a little bit of everything – consulting with small business owners to identify the strengths and weaknesses in their current bookkeeping systems, traveling to our clients’ businesses to do some bookkeeping in QuickBooks, and meeting with the fabulous My Paper Pusher team to discuss new ways to help clients save time and money with outsourced bookkeeping.
What do you like about your job?
I absolutely adore my clients. It may sound like a cliché, but I promise that I’m not trying to be trite. Business boils down to your relationships with people. At the end of every work day, I reflect on the spirited, brave, and adventurous people who I work with and who have blessed me with the opportunity to join them on their journey to success. I’m excited to be able to help small business owners prosper in any way I can.
What is the most important meal of the day?
Coffee. And the second most important meal of the day? More coffee.
What was your favorite TV show growing up?
Alias! I was convinced that I could become a secret agent with red hair. I’ve accomplished half that goal. (I’ll let you figure out which one.)
What would you be happy doing for hours on end?
Pinteresting. I can create a whole other life in a parallel Pinterest universe full of perfect pesto dishes, dream décor, and an endless supply of inspirational graphics and internet memes.
Are you a morning person or a night owl?
Night owl. (Which is why coffee is the most important part of the day!)
If you had $1,000,000 and you HAD to spend it, what would you do with it?
Travel. I haven’t had the opportunity to visit a lot of places yet. Wandering around and getting lost in new cities is one of my favorite adventures. I would probably give some of the money to my friends and make them come with me. A new city with a best friend – it’s really all you need; you can make the rest of the magic yourself.
What value or principle are you a true advocate for?
Good grammar. With technology and autocorrect often doing the work for us, it’s easy to forget how important grammar is. Grammar saves lives! There’s a huge difference between “Let’s eat, Grandma,” and “Let’s eat Grandma.”
Why were you given your name?
My father became quite enamored with the sitcom “Who’s the Boss” with Alyssa Milano and Tony Danza. So my father decided to name me “Sam” after the daughter on the TV show. I’m pretty sure my Dad expected the nominal homage to instantly replicate the show’s special father-daughter relationship between us as soon as I was born. To this day, we love watching the show together.
What is your favorite quote?
I choose two quotes to sum up Sam – one literary and one inspirational:
